Wayne Singleton launched his business the Running Concierge this year, to provide guided trail runs for visitors to the Lake District. A qualified athletics coach, Wayne lays everything on for his guests, meeting them at the train station, taking them to a hotel and then leading them around trail runs selected just for them in the national park. There is also the option of adding a cultural dimension to the weekend with a visit to the home of poet William Wordsworth at Rydal Mount, and Wayne will also suggest the best places to eat and book tables if necessary. Wayne says: “Running on trails and swimming in the Lakes is such an important part of my life in so many ways. Being able to combine this with my business is a real privilege and it’s fantastic to introduce people to the area’s incredible beauty and all the other attractions on offer. This is the great thing about running your own business; you can combine your work with what you love.” Is this what you needed to read to make you realise you can turn your favourite hobby into a business?#entrepreneurs #cumbria #outdoors ... This Sunday we celebrate doglovers Andy Irvine and Darren Clunie who started Morecambe online dog treat business Bounce and Bella in 2017. The school friends now sell their own range of healthy treats and raw food for dogs. The treats are grain-free to avoid some of the digestive issues dogs can experience. They also use either a single or limited number of ingredients so pet parents can know what they’re feeding their pooch. This month analysis by Bristol-based tech firm BrightPearl found Bounce and Bella had recorded net growth of 290 per cent over the last three years, the fastest growing company in the North West. Darren said: “Both Andy and I grew up with dogs who were beloved, valued members of our family, so it’s great fun to run a business that helps bring a smile to owners’ faces and a wag to dogs’ tails every day. “We want to help end pet parent worries over hidden nasties by offering simple yet tasty dog treats with just a few premium ingredients. That’s the great thing about running your own business; you’re the one in charge of changing things and making important decisions.”#TEG #Entrepreneurship #SmallBusiness ... See MoreSee Less
